post-1753-1199221504_thumb.jpgHave you seen the new Sachter ACT 2 arm?

Anyone of you out there tried it? Talked to Curt Schaller from Sachtler and the arm looks quite convincing, a bit like a mix of Silver Springs from Rig Enginering and the old EFP from Steadicam..

It is supposingly 1.4 kg lighter than the old Sachtler Arm... that is a lot less...

keep it level

I have tryd the arm and i didnt like the boomrange. I found it to stiff and didnt like it.

but what can you expect after using the G arms for 2 years ;)

Thanks Job

Guess I will have to try it out my self... never tried the G - guess you like it?

Have you tried the Silver Springs from Rig Enginering? The thing is I am looking for a bigger rig and was thinking about the Sachtler EFP-HD Like the post a lot. The old Sachtler Arm was also a bit stiff and heavy, but smooth enough.

By the way - very cool website you have.

Thx, those credits should go to Jason Williams, who made it for me.

Never tryd the Silver springs to be honest. Also i was going for the sachtler ones, but after reading the electrical problems with it i ended up with the MK-V Nexus, wich i love btw. Of course it was handy to have the Nexus becose i wanted the AR.

After using the G70 and G50 i am hooked. That iso elastic feel is the way a arm should work imo. But the Pro is also a dang nice arm. if i ever should need to make the choice again, its gonna be the G70 or Pro.

Here am i testing the Sachtler Sled. The gimbal was off centered, and i am not sure it was only that demo sled.

This is a closeup of the arm. Note: Its still the 3a design. Nothing new about this arm then the carbon.

I dont know the pricetag of this arm. You should compare price/quality. I have only heard good things about the silver spring arms. No field reports about the sachtler arms though.

hi all ,

this arm is between 9500 Euros to 11000 for 42 lbs or 51 or 57,3 lbs load .(this is the list price for europe maybe it's not the same price in other places)

the arm on the picture was fitted with carbon and was lighter than the old one .

i've try it in the french exhibit satis .

the feeling was between the efp style arm and the G50 i have .

interesting , you have to try it . very good boom range , very easy to modify the spring charge but not tool free .

the vest is also to be tried , the design was made to let the skin breath , the air can circulate in the front mount vest .

the sled was fitted with a transvideo cine hd monitor , very nice thing . i will make a post for this outstanding monitor in another post .

Hello All,

since the Euro is at a Dollar fifty right now (1Euro=1,47USDollar), it would be a good time to purchase a PRO arm.....

Pro Arm (4 Springs): 12,878.29 EUR

Pro Arm (8 Springs): 14,911.71 EUR

Actually right now the Pro arm or the G70 is a No Brainer, there is no reason to buy anything else.

I usually dont agree with eric, but i do agree 100% with his last statement. I would go for the Pro/G70 ANY time over ANY other arm at the moment. Your almost in the same pricerange here, so i would know what to do.

I'm moved...... World Peace anyone?

Yes, those really are the best two arms on the market, but if you REALLY can't find the money Robert Luna and Rig Engineering have great products and customer support too.
