Hello all,

i'm confused...

first 1 bought varizoom flowpod for my xh a1 camera.. i couldn't handle carrying all day this stuff in my hand..

so i bought varizom navigator - vest and arm.... i saw, that i need a better sled and a monitor definitnely, as i can't see nothing with onboard lcd...

so i thought i might buy navigator upgrade, gt sled and monitor.. and then , i though hell, if i'm buying, i should get a normal steadicam equipment, like aviator kit... and then i started reading all forums and came up with your forum and read that aviator is nothing... lcd screen is not good etc...

i have a possibility to get aviator for very cheap, approx 2/3 of the normal price... a little over 3k $... is there anything else that i could get for this price? something better than aviator? i cannot pay more than 4k...

mostly i shoot weddings, photosessions...

thanks, for your input.

Hi,

First of all, welcome on this forum.

Second, pls change your name in your realname..

Third.. you can find here a lot of information because your question has been asked a least a thousand times...

But, to help you on the way..

The Steadicam Merlin + Arm&Vest is a good start and can handle your Canon. If you want to have some extra weight possibilities,

go for the Steadicam Pilot. A AWESOME rig for just 5 bucks below the max 4K

Best, Erik

Im not experienced with the Pilot, but as far as I can tell, the Pilot is a cross between the Merlin and the Flyer. Best of both worlds, affordability of the Merlin, but the traditional sled design of the Flyer. The Pilot includes an LCD monitor, so this may be the best bet, but dont take my word for it. Im about to buy a Flyer but I only have experience with the Merlin + arm and vest so far....
