Premium Members Tomas Riuka Posted February 18, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 Hello, i'm torn between these two systems, can anyone please comment on either of them? I know they are different, because artemis has gas canister equipped arm . I'm torn between these two, because the price is +- the same but: - artemis can carry weight up to 13 kg, as g-force up to 7.5 kg - artemis has backmount vest which is easier on the back, but it's more heavy.. i don't know what to do, please advise.... thank you, tomas btw, i heard that on march artemis will present a new arm for dv pro system, so it should be better than the one is now... any opinion appreciated.. Hi Tomas, A bit late, but here is a reply on your post. I think almost no one here has any experience with the ABC systems at all. Maybe some test-flying on a convention as IBC but that's it. The Sled looks nice, at least some adjustments possible to achieve dynamic balance. However, i say this just looking at the picture.. The Gimbal looks scary, wouldn't trust that with a heavy Camera ! The connection to the arm seems still old fashion with none good adjustment possibility at all. I would not go there, test fly at least the rig first and do that for example at a convention just to feel the difference.. The Sachtler, what can i say.. i have tried it several times. The Arm feels a bit odd but can handle a nice weight if you use the heaviest springs. The Vest is not mine taste.. the socketblock is almost unreachable to connect the Arm, it looks like you almost need a assistent just to hook up the arm. But the used connectors / blocks are universal, so the arm can hook up to a Tiffen Vest, Pro Vest, Klassen Vest etc etc.. The padding used on the Vest, is not really comfortable. The really nice part of the Rig is the Sled. Nice build, upgradable to 24V and HD/SDI, some extra connections for power of FF set and enough adjustments available to dynamic balance the Sled.
