Touching up the Anodizing

Yes the parts have to be professionally stripped and re-anodized. Also don't forget to remove any non-aluminum parts (other metals will contaminate the bath) as well as all bearings from the bones, then all precision treads, bores and helicoils have to be protected and masked.

 

The procedure is on the pricey side as well as it will take usually a couple of weeks to do as the stripping firm will most likely be a different one then the one that anodizes parts. You will be down with your equipment for a while.

 

I personally like the worn look, but good luck with your endeavor.

I'm with Erwin. I drug my new Ultra 2 behind my car just to get a few dings in it so I wouldn't come across as such the newb. As it turns out I've whacked enough lights and audience members that it now looks very worn.
