I know that I will need to step down the signal to NTSC for my TB-6, but am curious if there are any tips about power voltage, (power off the sled or are on-boards a good idea to balance the heavy primes?) Any bugs or quirks to look out for? Any low mode stories or issues with this camera? (I am using the Ultimate Sled with a BarTech FF) Any tips would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance. Of course it was on a beach and the wind was blowing like hurricane force! I used the onboard batteries for the camera and the D.P. wanted to use the zoom lens all day. I had no problem with the camera. I also have a TB-6 and it worked fine with the down converter. It was just a nasty beach day wind wise. It balanced fine. Premium Members RobVanGelder Posted July 3, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 3, 2004 Very power hungry, especially with the Evertz down convertor attached, hopefully they have smaller and lighter downconvertors than a year ago. Feeding of your sled is not advisible, powerconsumption is about 70 watts in above config. Very long with a zoomlens (6-27) and heavy, I had it always with 3 preston motors. A big windcatcher. Low´mode handle works nice. I had to work with stiff HD-SDI coax because the engineer wanted to see and tweek the real image, not the converted one. I hope for you they improved that. Instead of downconverting I saw one time an operator who used a black and white video camera attached to the eyepiece. In other words, I don´t like this big pig.
