Nebtek was saying they were going to Have a 6.5" HD/SDI/NTSC , 6 or 700nit anyone . . .anyone . . . Bueller ?

Sony also said they were going to have a 7" OLED super skinny monitor . . .?

Post some picts, let us know , Thanks

Stay sober and leave it in Vegas . . . . .Ya Right?

Hey Rob,

I'm not sure if you meant this OLED monitor or not. The image looked very alive, especially during camera movement. More organic than a digital image. There was a little bit of interference (faint rolling lines) in the monitor and of course the Sony rep manning that area wasn't sure why.

I saw the Transvideo monitor there.

They have a 6" and 8" versions ( Maybe 6.5 not sure) of their new HD monitor.

It is really impressive. They have the studio version (for color accuracy) and the super bright version, and you can add all sorts of goodies, like built in frame lines and digital level as software upgrades.

It accepts HD SDI and regular NTSC inputs, so it is tailored for our application.

And again, Marianne was extremely patient in showing me all the ins and outs and goodies of the monitor.

Looks like a perfect Steadicam monitor to me...

I've seen the monitor before too (the 6" hddb). Its really nice. They run just under $8k with the frame lines and level build in.

Personally I'm going to hold out for awhile, it is only for reference and it seems the next 18 months are going to bring a few new options in lcd and oled monitors. And hopefully we get something in the $6k range. hd monitor, hd transmitter & receiver and monitors all new things to save for.

Jon,

Regarding the Boland monitor, Charles Papert wrote:

"I stopped by Boland and inquired about that monitor and was told "no, we don't have it to show". My long face then prompted "you must be a Steadicam operator!" They are indeed onto us. What I was then told was that at current, the electronics are requiring a box as big as the existing 8" monitor (but with smaller screen), so it's impractical. Once they can figure out how to miniaturize things enough to make a scaled-down housing, they can show the monitor."

He then went on to talk about the WEVI transmitter which is why I moved that post elsewhere.

Thanks.
