With bubble level and yoke adapter it's about $8k but I also think for features, size/weight and image quality this one is going to be the one to beat next weekend at the shootout. I can honestly tell you that I think this monitor might be great inside, but it is way to reflective for outside use in mixed conditions. The screen is almost as reflective as a mirror, no joke. The screen looks reflective when off, but whatever reflection gets through the anti-reflective coating is to a large extent overwhelmed by the brightness of the image when on. Some monitors I've looked at are very matt, so appear less reflective because the reflection is smeared over a greater area, leading to loss of contrast. This must really be a question of taste, but asides from all the other features, having beautiful blacks in the image is what won me over to the Transvideo. Chris I confirm, the the 6" transvideo monitor is a really good steadicam monitor. I've been using it for only about two months but all the scenarios I've used it in until now have been great experiences with it. Even in the desert with a high sun, perfect! I have to say I'm more impressed every time I see that monitor. Such a gorgeous image. I took a few shots and some iPhone video of Andrew operating against the follow spots on some showgirls and in every shot his monitor image popped bright on the screen even against a white blown out background. Thought you'd like to see Hey Chris, I'm headed over next week to demo and test out the Transvideo with my Clipper 24. I think I use the same or similar yoke as your Archer? Do you have any photos of it installed? Also, what route are you using to send the HD signal down your post? I have a 7 pin Lemo on the top and bottom of my stage that I plan to use since they are straight runs to the bottom. I had a DA installed on my normal video BNC run and I still need that run for distributing SD out to transmitters and the like. Thanks! In the second jpg, you see Jacques' more elegant solution. The golden brackets allow you to mount the monitor at its exact CoG. I anticipate no problems in fitting it to your rig. I use the dedicated HD BNCs stage to base, not the 7-pin lemo for HD. I'm almost certain your Clipper has this too. Thanks Chris, my rig didn't have a "dedicated HD BNC" persea are you referring to the regular BNC on the top stage? Again I'm not sure what the Archer has but your Archer is a few years old right? Not the newest version? If my regular BNC input on the top stage was HD compatible from the factory, it's not now since I had to put a video DA in to feed my other outputs such as transmitter and recorder. I'm REALLY hoping that I can use the 7 pin Lemo that was is built-in for component HD and monitor power for for my HD SDI run, plus I use that same connector for program return and tally on live shows. With seven "pipes" running down the post already that makes it ideal... assuming it will all work. Marianne and Co, is going to test it and modify a monitor / power cable for me when I go over. In Brittany, with Temiz ;) The Archer 1 has 5 video lines through the post, and 3 are HD. My A2 has 3 HD and one SD, I think. By 7-pon lemo, do you mean the one that goes from the base to the monitor, or have you one on the stage that breaks out below to 3 component lines. If the former, I think it is an SD line; if the latter, then they are HD. Rob Orf will be able to tell you, and may have a circuit diagram available.
