Premium Members chip mead Posted May 2, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) hi, after a little investigating my it seems there are several potential rig options. I have operated before, although some years ago. I'm familiar with 3a and master series. I have a budget of approx £10,000. I'm based in the UK. I would expect to be flying 16mm film, DVcam and broadcast video. (and eventually 35mm hopefully, but not immediately). based on on the above, what do you think..... Premium Members Afton Grant Posted May 2, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 Hi Chip, Which is best is very hard to tell as it is based upon condition of the kits, included accessories, the price of each, and what you're willing to spend on each. For the sake of argument, let's say all those factors are equal. I think you can eliminate two of the Steadicam brand rigs since the Master Film is obviously at the front of that line in terms of features, options, and potential. That's assuming you would want the best, no? The Baer-Bel, I'm not familiar with, but it would most likely depend on the same factors I mentioned above. Premium Members chip mead Posted May 2, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 Hi Afton, that is a very good point. I would indeed want the best. The reason for the choices is that they are all rigs i have recently seen for sale. I would expect the Archer to be nearly new, but the the master rigs to be 'much loved'. I too know little about the baer-bel other than what i've read on this forum. Are there any UK baer-bel operators?
