Guys,

I have been following your posts in regards to this situation for a while now and have not said a word, as I was hoping the situation would work itself out. Anton/Bauer has been around for 37 years and will be here for the long run and for our customers.

In light of this situation, I will accomodate any and all steadicam users with a "special" price to get you thru your time of need. I will not post any pricing on this website, nor will I put it in an email. If you contact me, I guarantee that you will be extremely happy with the pricing that I supply to you. This is a limited time offer, only thru June 30th, and I will sell you a direct replacement for whichever battery you currently own.

Saying this, this offer is only good thru the steadicam community. If any word gets out to any Anton/Bauer dealers, then I will no longer offer the deal.

Please contact me directly at (800)422-3473. We can ship product immediately and get you back and running. If you have sent something for re-cell, just advise me as to what it was, provide me with some type of documentation and I will gladly sell you a new one. If you cannot reach me by phone, send me an email with your contact information and I will call you back right away.

Remember, even though I will be selling to you at an extreme discount the 2 year and 4 year warranties still apply.

Regards,

Paul

Paul,

Once again you have proven why you are a gentleman and remind me of why I have always done business with you and Anton Bauer. The only time I have ever had batteries recelled was last year when I needed to breath life into an old set of the discontinued Compac batteries and I will say Rathbone did a good job, but I have never opted for the recell route on any line of your batteries that is still being manufactured. On that note, at some point I will need a few new Performers. Is another run coming along at some point?

Guys,

As you know, we don't have any Proformer batteries, so if you are looking to get them re-celled, the only option that I would have for you is to upgrade to a Trimpac 14 battery (at a great price I may add).

I am looking to see how viable it would be to do another production run of Proformer batteries. I will keep you all posted.

Regards,

Paul

It has been over a month since Rathbone Energy sent out the email and six months they have had my batteries. The phone still gets picked up by a machine if at all. Email do not get returned and a letter sent registerd mail was sent back.

The only good that has come out of this is all the people that have offerd me battery help. I want to thank Paul Dudeck for his offer unfortunately the new Anton Bauer ProPac 14 do not fit my EFP battery cage.

Anywhere on the East Coast to have batteries re-celled?

What other battery options do I have with a EFP?

Adam Keith

I had nothing but problems with this company years ago and learned my lesson. I posted about my experiences on this board and got flamed from Ron for it. He didn't merit any kind of response. I am saddened to see he is up to his old tricks and sorry you've experienced this kind of crap. My advise is to buy some fine new batteries from a reputable company like AB. I've replaced the Rathbone recells which barely lasted a year with AB Dioniics and could not be happier.

I am still having issues with these guys too.

I place an order in early April for new batteries. Still have no product. No one has responded to my countless emails and phone calls (including Ron's cell phone). I've send letters, even contacted the local Mayor's Office and Police Chief. I've sent a letter to his accountant. Right now I'm in the process of trying to find a lawyer to file and represent me in small claims. I don't have to ability to just throw away $2700-.

Lesson learned.

they Adam,

What I did with my EFP, since the new batt. don't fit because of those stupid little rubbery plastic label on top and bottom is just take off the bottom plate and redrill the mount holes for your AB plate and move it down slightly and now the new batts fit. Or, maybe just turn the AB mount 90 degrees and then there is no reason to take the bottom plate off

Hope that helps

I thought I was all alone with my Rathbone problem. Since february they have had my four hytron100's, four position charger, and since April about $1400 in cash. I canceled my order in late april and since then, no gear, no money. I filed and completed the first BBB report on Rathbone; it looks as though a few others may have done the same since then. According to my research, it may not be financially feasible to file a small claims case in Tennessee using a lawyer, as a lawyer cannot be used in small claims. And, the complaint must be filed where the problem happened, Tennessee, and not where I am, Texas. (If others have better info, please let me know!)

Here is my newest idea. If we get enough people with claims against Rathbone together, maybe we can spread out the costs and hire a lawyer out of Knoxville and get this into a regular court. If interested, email me and I will compile a list of folks. I have posted a similar note at the Broadcast Engineering forum. Later today I will post on my website the note I sent to the BBB to initiate my case with them if you are interested in the facts of my Rathbone situation.

Also, let my apologize as I am not a steadycam operator. I am a DP and a 600 camera operator. I have strapped one on a few times only to pile respect upon respect for you guys.

I just wanted to give everyone an update as to my situation with Rathbone.

I'm happy to say that I finally recieved my order. It looks as though Ron is turing things around and he is able to fill new purchase orders without to much of an issue. Just check with him on the turn around. Any email I've sent over the last month has been answered within 24hrs or less.

Ron seems to be getting a grip on things and has been good to deal with. You still get a life story but product is shipping.

As for rebuilds I think he's still setting up shop in his new building.

So now I have 14 batteries and 3 quad charges I'm selling 4 of them and a charger check my ad. photos will be up shortly. The 4 forsale are from batteries 4 broadcast. And were used on one show for 2 days.

Ron has sent my 5 batteries back to me. He came across them when he started to unpack a storage trailer, while in the process of setting up a new building. Since he required more time to set up the new building for recelling and wouldn't be able to work on them for a couple more weeks he thought it best to send them back.

We spoke for a while on the phone He apologized for not getting information out on his company's troubles in a timely manner to us all but did explain the long list of troubles they have had. From a tree hitting his building, trouble with AT&T and his phone system, emails that where never sent and empoyees leaving, it sounds like he has had his hand full. Take it for whats it worth, he did tell me that new sales orders are now quick turnarounds and recells will be up and running after his new building is online.

I appreciated him sending my batteries back while in the middle of his nightmare. Once he is completly up and running I suggested that he post it on this forum.

Adam Keith

Rathbone Energy sent a email letting me know the building they work out of was hit by a tree a couple of weeks ago. They have also had trouble with the phone system since all phone calls needed to be forward to a cell phone.

Not being able to contact them, I was getting a little nervous that they went out of buisness. They have had 5 of my batteries to be re-celled since January 2. I put a hold on a charge to my credit card but after the email and learning of Rathbone's troubles I took off the hold.

It was good to get the update and to know they are working on getting into a new building and back to business.

Thank you Keith.

Now, since I have internet access and since the telephones are finally working, No thanks to AT&T, and I am slowly getting paper work organized I am gradually addressing all needs. AT&T now cannot seem to make voice mail work. I have many people telling me they constantly get busy signals.

Movement of my Lithium Ion Batteries and Chargers has been a timely product and a salvation. Getting the battery assembly and rebuilding functions up and runnning is dependant upon high sales of those products. My building should have been finished and I should have been back up and running seven weeks ago but, The lithium ion batteries and chargers are moving smoothly.

The damage done in the forums by a very few is really slowing down my ability to get back up and running as I should already have been up and running.

Those few people are hurting me but they are also keeping 12 people out of a paycheck and hundreds of good customers from getting their rebuilds back within any reasonable amount of time. I cannot do anything about the past but am now focused forward.

So, all good referalls from years old clients are welcome.
