Transvideo Digital Level

Has anyone seen or used the new Transvideo Cinemonitor HD6SBL that has the optional digital level? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not convinced that having the level sensor in the monitor - which can be both panned and tilted on the bracket, is good science. Can a level that is in the monitor be accurate? Wouldn't the accuracy of the level be critically dependent on the monitor being mounted dead square to the post? The HD6SBL would seem like a good way to keep your digital level when using HD camera's, but is it going to be worthwhile?

Hi Brad,

I just had a chance to play with this monitor for a few days, and I loved it so much I'm getting one. It is very bright and easily readable in strongest sunlight. Best of all, the image quality is beautiful, with rich blacks and true colours. I found it inspiring to look at, as if I was watching a movie (you know what I mean).

OK, the level thing. I had it mounted on a COG bracket, so no problems there with extraneous movement. Anyway, you zero it whenever you want. I liked the simple level and frame-line displays that work in HD, and it's got a load of other stuff on it I didn't get to the bottom of, and perhaps never will (scopes and such, plus great set-up charts). It is certainly well featured.

It's perfect for me, and we are going to be very happy together.

I'll tell more when I have it.

All the best,

Chris
