Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted May 18, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 18, 2008 I just came home from The SOC/JL Fisher Bar-B-Q. And saw that little dolly set up, Actually got dragged by Jeff Clark and a couple of other Guys... Looks like it could have potential as a Handheld/Steadicam platform. It's called the Bullitt because it was build originally for that Film but nobody ever started to actually build it as a mass product... Until know I guess. It rides on four 8 inch casters that can be oriented and locked in various positions. Has a seat adapter and seat (which looks as it actually came out of the Mustang) that can be mounted that low that your butt is actually inches from the pavement. Or with risers as high as you can make it, has foot rests, etc. Also not sure how well it would perform in off road environment... Expected price: $2500.- not sure with how much of AKS... as that is a prototype. (I like the Color...) Attaches see some pictures... (Sorry for the quality, I-Phone pix with a dirty lens... Oh Well) Enjoy, Erwin

Christopher Brow
Erwin, Here is a photo of the original "Bullitt Dolly". Designed by Gaylin Schultz and built by Matthews in the late 60's. Matthews is doing a complete overhaul to get it back on the set. I can't wait.
Premium Members Bud Kremp S.O.C. Posted May 19, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2008 Hi Guys, I requested something like this from the grip brothers on "Drive". It had the same style wheels. Only problem was, the faster we went, the back wheels used for steering would begin to "chatter" like riding really fast acrossed the parking lot on a grocery cart (c'mon...we've all done it). Please advise if this does it too. Hopefully not. Bud Kremp Burbank, CA
Aaron A Galway
that would be good to use for low shots in a crowd riot or other scenes were there is alot of people...
Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted May 19, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2008 Gents-- The rear wheel chatter is from a lack of weight bearing down on those casters. Just add some ballast right over the rear end to beat that one! Let 'er rip! Best, Brant
Premium Members Will Eichler Posted May 19, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2008 So Brant - is that why the two 12 packs of Coors Light always end up in the back of your shopping cart? Best, Will "couldn't resist" Eichler
