Fire at Universal Studios

Hi all,

Just learned that at LA a Fire at Universal Studios has taken place.

Sofar it seems that only the Ghost Whisper Show is affected, hope for you all that will be the only show / film affected..

what a bummer -- I live very close (basically guarunteeing that I'll never do a long-term show there) so I've had copters hovering like moths and fire trucks racing by since the wee-hours. So far I hear only one injury, hopefully that's still true -- sets can be rebuilt but it's still very sad to see the backlot go up in smoke.

and one from my roof (the smoke will slow down for a few minutes then huge billows will continue so it's still pretty big):

Wow that bites, I just went out and could see the smoke from my Driveway and it's still very dark and lot's of it, so it doesn't look like they have it under control yet.

Well, some XCS sled owners and a MK-V owner has been able to view them as well so I guess my pro virus isn't working...unless those guys use Lisagav? Hmmm?

 

I just saw a news clip with the Universal president and the press kept spinning it into a bomb thing. Maybe Al-Qaeda didn't like Ghost Whisperer? Almost equally stupid was how the money-grubbing bozo ceo mentioned at least 3 times that the park will still be open for business. So far only injuries, no fatalities. Let's hope all the firefighters stay safe.

So a blow torch caused the fire... New York street is gone... bummer that was the first Backlot I ever visited back in 1993... and worked may times since. I read that they will rebuild a new version of New York Street, a lot of history gone...
