So my girlfriend and I are going to be in LA for a wedding for about a week starting Friday(4th) and besides all the wedding events we don't really have any plans. Anyone know of anything fun going on or want to grab a drink or some coffee while we are in town? I believe we will be staying in the Santa Monica/Venice Beach area most of the time.

Jess,

dude your going to be in Venice for 4th of July, pick a street, walk down it and join one of hundreds of parties, they spill into the sidewalks. Pretty much all the beach communities whoop it up pretty good for the 4th. Unfortunately I'll be out of town otherwise I would most likely be stumbling along the Strand around Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.

Enjoy your stay . . . .

Beach . . .Beach and more Beach . . .sorry you Valley guys I'm partial to the beach and the temperature not being into the triple digits . . . .LOL . . . .

I think in terms of food....LA is a Burger capital, so eat as many as you can while here! In Venice, Hinano Cafe is a semi-secret AWESOME bar-style burger. 15 Washington Blvd. In Santa Monica, there's a bar called Father's Office on Montana and 10th. Always a line, so expect to wait like 45 min, but it's pretty unparalleled. Gourmet-style. MMMMMM
