Premium Members Norbert von der Heidt Posted July 8, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 8, 2008 Hi all This Myvu Solo came a part of a promotional email and I thought it was an interesting idea. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with these or something like them? http://www.myvu.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/

Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 9, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 9, 2008 Hi, If you mean for Steadicam use, Garrett tried something similar on his first model. This was before portable video monitors, so he had a fibre-optic cable from the camera viewfinder to his eye. I've tried it, and it's sick-making having your vision not change when you move your head, but change when you move the rig. How he managed to shoot such a great show-reel with this is beyond me; but pretty much everything Garrett does is beyond me. If I misunderstand your question, and you know all this, please excuse me. RobinThwaites
I tried a pair of video glasses quite a few years ago and, like Chris, found it very disorientating. Similar to using gyro stabilized lenses or binoculars from a helicopter, no doubt someone could learn to get used to it! Robin
Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted July 10, 2008 Moderators Report Share Posted July 10, 2008 Hi Norbert As Chris and Robin have stated the system is disorientating considering you are trying to view an image 1" if that away from one of your eyes and watch where you are going with the other through the glasses which in the one's I tried where very tinted(nd9) so you could not see much through them anyway . Have a great time at the games ok Fly safe Louis Puli lol, lol, lol, I had to post this still .
