Hello everyone,

I am looking for a little help.

Trying to ship some steadi gear to Italy from Canada.

What is the most secure and easy way as method of payment vers sending a package?

Does anyone recomend ESCROW although they ask for a full detailed bank information online??

Do not have Pay Pal as I might be one of the few dinosaurs left whitout owing a credit card.

Any thoughts??

Muchly appreciated

Dani

Hi there

I have done this before ,

I am from Italy but I am based in L.A so somentimes I send stuff over there

the best way I have experienced so far is a regular international wire transfert , It will take 4 to 5 buiseness days

but it`s secure .

All you need to do is asking to your bank the Routing Number the Swiff Code and your account number

keep in mind that they will charge the sender for the bank operation

it is usually 70$ every 6000$ you send

I hope this can help you

ah.. by the way I know every body in Rome ,are you selling stuff to someone over there ?

ciao..

Hi Joseph,

I think you were thinking in wiring money over to Italy.

No, I am trying to ship over some steadi equipment and we were looking for a safe transaction.

We decided to go through ESCROW. I am sending the gear to Verona.

Thanks for the imput though.

I know Roberto Di Angelis over in Rome. Do you know him? He shot Mel Gibson's "Passion Of The Christ".

Did ashow over here in Canada afew years back with him.

Have a nice day.

Ciao

Yeah of corse I know Roberto , we call him Robertino ,

I know he just wrapped a show with Michael Mann e Dante Spinotti , "Public Enemy" in Chicago

great operator..

I was in Rome working on the sequel of "Da Vinci Code" " Angels and Demons"

and I was hoping to see him there but he was here in the States working ,

Anyways I am glad you found a solution for your safe transaction ,

but I was actually talking about transfering money from Italy to Canada ,

I just did it this last week ,

ciao...

Hi Alfeo,

If you go to Escrow.com you get exact info on how to ship and receive securely goods/money.

Bassically they act as a 3rd party. The buyer sends money to my wired bank account(which I find it a bit scary), then when the funds are checked and legitimized, Escrow allows you to ship the gear to the buyers address, providing a tracking number. Escrow checks the number and the shipping company, and if all correct, Escrow wires the money directly into your account. There is a fee for all this around $60.00USD plus shipping which you as aseller will get back from the buyer.

Check it out on their website.

Best,

dani

Hey Joseph,

Its nice you know Roberto or Robertino.

We had loads of fun here in Victoria on one of the shoots. He's a great op and a fun guy as you said it as well.

I am still not sure what you steadi guys are doing business with when you have to ship overseas??

What companies do you use to make sure the sellers gets the cash and the buyer gets the gear??

Any thoughts??

Thanks

Dani

as I probably mentioned already I am based in L.A. usually if I have a show out of the country production takes care of the shipping

which is been Fed ex most of the time , when I work back in Italy as local I use either my other sled or I ship my Pro with Fed ex ,

if I need anything in terms of new gear and I am in Italy usually Goerge Paddock sends me everything and I can pay with

Paypall or wire transfert.

what show Roberto was working on in Victoria?

Hey thanks for that info Joseph

My guy in Italy didn't want something too expensive

Fed Ex would have charged me $250.00 for shipping..that's abit crazy for a 8 pound of used equipment....

Do you work lots??

We did an indie here called Ripper and I guess he flew in to do somebody a favor

best

Dani
