Premium Members Jeff Cook Posted August 27, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 27, 2008 Hello, my name is Jeff and I am a?a?ah?a Steadicamoholic?(there I said it!). It?s been 3 weeks since I last flew and I have found it very hard to be ?on the wagon ?, (tripods). I have been good since I sold my Master Series two years ago, shooting from lock down locations that a tripod can provide, with some occasional handheld work when needed. Sure, I had some slipups. It started out slow, like on a DV job somebody brought a Merlin and said ?go ahead, try it, everybody?s using them?. Then I found myself wondering into trade shows, glancing at the new rigs, trying on vests and extending a few arms. I even had a crazy night with an Ultra only to find out that she left me for another ?Demo??I felt used. Then, I was alone with this sexy little thing. I didn?t think much of her a first, what kind of name is ?Flyer? anyway. Then I put her on and it all came rushing back to me like a long lost love, I was flying my shots again. High shots, low shots, running down the hallways I felt like an adrenaline junkie B.A.S.E. jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge! Now, I have rescued an EFP rig from the Steadicam Human Society and have returned to the forum for advice and guidance - I?m back! Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted August 27, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 27, 2008 Hi Jeff. You've taken the first step: admitting you have a problem. You should feel good about that. I'm sure everyone here will do what ever they can to help you on stay on the straight and narrow. I'd be honored to be your sponsor. Premium Members Imran Naqvi Posted August 27, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 27, 2008 Jeff, don't you realise the EFP is a gateway rig? It'll start with upgrading the gimbal, but you'll probably want a Carbon Fibre Post, after that you'll be worried about 24V power, then the topstage, the next thing you know you'll be in an XCS, Pro or Ultra2 and then there's no hope for you at all! Premium Members Kevin Andrews SOC Posted August 28, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 Hello, my name is Jeff and I am a?a?ah?a Steadicamoholic?(there I said it!). I can relate Jeff. The worst part of the addiction is the $$$ spent. There isn't even enough left over for booze!
Premium Members Jeff Cook Posted August 28, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 Thanks for the support. And yes Rob & Imran, my EFP is about to be attached to the Frankin-Rig electrodes, (via MK-V), and should sprout new appendages soon.
