Premium Members Reid Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 I'm looking for a backup Aaton XTR prod to PRO power cable. Anyone want to sell me one or let me know where I can get one before Friday? I'm heading to Rio de Janeiro. Thanks Reid
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 11, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 That's a 4 pin XLR 12v cable isn't it...? If so, wouldn't the Arri 12v standard or alt power cable do the trick as a backup?
Premium Members Reid Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 No, it's an 8pin 12v cable in a ring configuration .

Premium Members Reid Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 No, I don't think so. I've never used this particular cable before but the other end of it is like all my other PRO power cables, 3 pin Lemo. I think your thinking of the Aaton 35mm which is 4 pin XLR. This is for the super 16mm. Maybe Erwin can chime in here it was once his cable. Thanks for the reply though.
Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted September 11, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 Charles is right about power, 4 pins xlr , 12 v. The 8 pin lemo is a phase controller plug. the 4 pins xlr is right above the 8 pins lemo. The onboard battery always directly connects to the xlr port, or maybee you have an old adapter to use some NP-1's plugged in to the port. Anyway, an image is worth a thousand words...:
Premium Members Reid Russell Posted September 11, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 11, 2008 Thanks Charles and Charles! You were both right. I have the Aaton cable and I will use the Arri as a backup. Thank you
