Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted September 20, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 20, 2008 Hello, Here is an Aluminum Post with inner post for you to start making your own stabilizer sled or Steadicam as many know it to be called. This post is 1.5" in diameter and the inner post slides up and down it with no effort. It is raw aluminum, so after making any modifications and adding your top and bottom, you'd be best to have it anodized so that it retains it's smoothness and is protected. The inner post has been drilled every 7/8" of an inch or so with a small diameter hole. You can use this as a spacer to then drill and attach a plunger on the outer post and then pull and click it into the various holes on the inside post and adjust your length of sled this way. You imagination is the key to making this work, but this is the exact size that the standard 1.5" sleds are made. the posts were purchased from Industrial metal supply in Sun Valley, California they are the same supplier of the post's in their raw form to a few of the stabilizer manufacturers. The main post is 15 inches long and the inner post is 13 and 7/8". Good luck on your stabilizer project. Each set will be taped up in blue painters tape before shipping out and wrapped in paper and bubble wrap for protection before shipping. All sales final. There is machining involved to complete your sled. this is only a raw part or parts to assist you in completing the system. Start off with this good post and you'll be all the better for it. Paypal accepted. Price per 2 section Raw post is $80. and includes shipping to the lower 48 States. Shipping to anywhere outside the lower 48 is priced per address.
