Problems with AJA HD10MD3

I have come across some malfunction using an AJA downconverter HD10MD3 into my trusted Transvideo Cine III. The signal comes from the Red One and goes directly into the HD-SDI input of the device. Frome there directly into the sled, internally through the post and comes to the monitor out. When I send the test signal the monitor shows the correct signal. Switching off the test the monitor starts blinking in the lower half of the picture. Above he view is dark and shows the correct frame, in the lower half it blinks about 1-2 times per second showing white and then some distorted, almost black image. The converter has proven to be working correctly using the same camera, same converter fed into a regular composite screen. Now I am thinking about a power problem within the sled and thought someone might have stepped over the same problem since I consider all devices standard industry.

Any thoughts appreciated. Pics of the setup can be found under a recent discussion of the BaerBel sled.

All that I did before posting. Finally I disconnected the power supplies on the sled. The BB gives you the option to have parallell or separated DC. The problem disappeared but I would actually like to know what brought the dirt into the power circuitry. So I am still trying to figure that out.

Anyway guys, a big thank you for your ideas! I will keep you on track if I ever find out.
