Financing another Rig

Recommended Posts

Has anyone fiananced a rig from Tiffen before if so, how much red tape did you have to go through. The reason why is I want to upgrade to a Pro-Vid and I've seen many for sale on the forum but to pay out that much in one HUGE lump is something I can't do. Any suggestions.

Hey Nikk,

You gotta do what you gotta do. If you plan to finance one, I would recomend speaking to Frank Rush about your potential needs. He is the Sales and Marketing Manager from Tiffen. I met him at the workshop in Chester Springs, PA. Really nice guy as we all are :) I don't know if you checked out the website and got a number but here's the one I got from him. Office 205-980-8629 Cell 205-229-5572 Email frush@tiffen.com. If you speak to him, tell him I say hi. He may or may not remember me, however, I was the only "Hermano Colorado" there.

By the way, to answer a previous question you had, I own a III A sled w/a PRO post, modified J-box and internalized wiring with a III A arm and gimbal. Pretty nice for old school. Someday I will have pics.... Good luck and happy shopping!!!

Hi Nik

I don't know if you would be interested - but the MK-V Genesis system is designed for the same work load as the PRO-Vid, but you can keep it and upgrade all the way to an AR if you wanted.

We can also offer finace on this as well.

Please email me if you would like more info.

Sorry for the plug guys -

With all due respect Howard, please give it a rest.

Since you've pretty much become involved with the Steadicam forum (the past few months) two out of three of your posts are plugs for yourself and products.

Just wanting to give you a heads up but through discussions with other ops you're getting a used car salesman reputation here with the constant onslaught of these kinds of plugs.

Let others (customers not employees or those getting kick backs for sales) do the back patting and product plugging for you. He was asking about Tiffen. How would you like it if everytime someone was inquiring about one of your products Tiffen or PRO or another manufacturer came on and tried to lead them away? Not a good professional business acumen is it? Like the used car salesman who tries to lure you onto his lot instead of the lot you were looking at.

Just a thought and friendly piece of advice. Later.

Hi Michael, I agree with you.

It´s very ok to give sincere advise, tips and help, but when it comes to this kind of promotion for your own goods, I would advice the car-salesman to personalize the offerings and send it by private email, not on this forum........

keep that baby going as long as you can while you save money for upgrades.

Thank you, I'll do my best

I feel very blessed to have a rig with so much history and the hands of numerous professionals flying uncountable times with it. Most inspiring to me. I'm pretty sure all the parts of my III A have been some the first parts its previous owners have had. There's something about that. Nothing like used cars, regardless of the salesman. And believe me, I've had those, too.

Hey Nikk,

If you are looking to finance a rig, but can't afford it brand new, maybe you want to see if there are demo rigs each respective vendor offers and they might help you with that.

Nikk,

I can't tell you for sure if any of the vendors mentioned above do that. :( However, I would start with Mr. Rush at Tiffen since that was what you inquired about on this thread. His info's up there and he may point you in the right direction. I would also check with all manufacturers and distrbutors that give you the "warm and fuzzy" that compete with the PRO Vid. Personally, I believe the seasoned members of our community would know more on these tricks of the trade  .

i would like to make a little contribution.....

Howard could have looked off in his comment plugging his rig, but he nevertheless was making a v good point.... I did that, for the cost of a pro-vid got an older mk-v a provid arm and a 3a vest second hand... and i can carry on upgrading and spunking more money as and when it comes, to the point now where my sled is pretty cool (and expensive)... its a great system, i love it, very modular.. but this thread is about finance...

are u UK based? have u thought of the "princes trust" and affiliated small business start ups? If your able to put half the money and have a proffesional record there are loads of schemes.

we just got another 20grand for our surround video geodesic dome (based on 20grand private investment)
