Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted December 3, 2008 Moderators Report Share Posted December 3, 2008 Hi everyone I was at Panavision today doing prep with the Genisis (and the recorder onboard No ssr available HATE that) camera which I will be using soon on a job.Let me also say this is the first time using this camera ok. My Rig is a Pro 1 with a new base , a preston 2 motors ,Modulas ,and Dionic 90 batteries all New. When I powered up the camera (which was all fine) I looked down at the batteries and saw that the "Real time Display " on the 2 batteries (Camera /Aug ) were FLASHING on /off . All of the batteries are only a few months old and I have been on many other jobs with them with out any problem. Can any one tell me if they have had a similar issue with these batterys. Thanks Louis Puli from down under . B)

Add the undersized wire up the post and you are going to burn thru batteries every 15 mins
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted April 6, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 6, 2009 Flashing display... I have a Dionic 90 that does strange things... It doesn't matter what charger (2701, 2702, TWQ, T2, etc) I try it will not charge, it doesn't even recognize the battery, but as a nice entertaining side note separate parts of the realtime display will flash in strange patterns... It looks like the Predator countdown to self destruction that can be seen when you defeat him... Any idea? Anyone... Bueller?... Bueller? Paul??? Premium Members pauldudeck Posted July 11, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 11, 2009 Hi Guys, Sorry, but I was in Miami on business this past week. The issue with the Dionic 90's is as stated. They have a maximum current draw of 7amps, so if you are around 6.5amps plus, the complete LCD will flash at you indicating that you are pulling too much current from a single battery. There is nothing around this and it really means that it is not the correct battery for the application. A GENESIS is around 60 watts and when you add an SRW-1, you add another 55watts or so. This is 115 watts total, for only the camera and recorder, not any other accessories, which translates to around 8amps of current, and over the rating of the Dionic 90. This is a definite application for the Dionic HC...... Paul "Battery Boy" Dudeck
