Overtime and Meal Penalties

Never done this before. Again I am reminded of the importance of ACs. I'm Trying to figure out how to come up with a fee schedule for overtime and meal penalties. Do we charge for labor alone or rental? What are the time increments? Basically trying to not gouge a good client that I've worked with a few times. Don't want to shortchange myself, either.

Thanks

Hey David,

Great question, took me for ever to decipher the code...

OVERTIME

OT on wages only. So if your charging $1800 for 10 (you + kit) and your kit is $1000, then your actual rate would be the $800 for 10 which is actually and hourly for 8 hours plus the 2 hours of time and a half O.T. (1.5x). So the actual hourly rate to which overtime is based off is $72.73 an hour.

RATE = HOURLY x 8 + (2 x HOURLY x 1.5) --> RATE / 11 = HOURLY

Double Time is calculated after 14 hours. For the minutes, break them down into tenths for easier timecard calculations. Just divide the 60 minutes by 10, so ever 6 minutes is 1/10th or .1 on your timecard.

Lets say you worked for 15 hours and 10 minutes.

WAGES = HOURLY x 8 + (6 x HOURLY x 1.5) + (1.2 x HOURLY x 2)

MEAL PENALTIES

The meal penalty for delayed meals shall be computed as follows:

First one-half (1/2) hour meal delay or fraction thereof ??$ 7.50

Second one-half (1/2) hour meal delay or fraction thereof ?.$10.00

Third and each succeeding one half (1/2) hour meal delay or fraction thereof ?..$12.50
