It has a dampening and led brightness button. It works on small watch batterys for about 30 hours. Has automatic off after 20 minutes. It comes with 3 sets of batteries. And it works. Green LED in the middle, two yellow ones on each side and red LED's on both ends. It is small (just over an inch long) but LED's are bright. I have a Marell digital level on my sled but when I use my Boland HD monitor , I use it just underneath the monitor and it's great. I use this system for years now and love it as it gives me an color-indication which I can see without actually looking at it as it is next to the screen. With so little to adjust on it , it is far from the versatility of the "real" units made specifically for us but for 50$, it is just that cheap and works for most situations (straight line, slow ending moves, stand-bye from action...) There are 3 small plastic bits sticking out of the bottom of the unit. These are there to lock the unit to a SLR camera, I broke these off, in order to make the unit lie flat. I have calibrated the unit with several different manual levels. I'm sure there are more intelligent ways to attach it to the monitor, but this is how I did it. Works fine for me. FYI, the unit even has a battery save function. If there's no movement in 10-15 minutes, it will switch itself off. Move the rig again, and it switches itself on again. The US source is Adaroma camera in NYC for $38 USD. I love the fact you can program the thing so if your velcro, or in my case and old Hotshoe, is not level you can quickly program it to the true level. Thanks Frederic for post this info. Lars, I hope all is well with you my friend. I've attached a picture of my new monitor arm for my Archer. You'll see the Digital level attached to the top of the LCD.
