To find JUST a used ProVid Arm will be tough...

Ask around and put it into the classifieds "Wanted" section as well as onto the Classifieds Wanted on the SOA board.

But as already said:

The SK Arm is basically half of a ProVid Arm... you are half way there.

Try and contact Tiffen (or distributor where ever you are, can't tell) and see if they could help you upgrade your SK into a ProVid Arm. (Tiffen has changed there politics quite drastically concering selling parts separately... give them a call).

OR:

You could just try to find a used SK Arm... (No you also will have to have a different C-Link) don't go there...

Actually I just checked out the SK pix and specs... it could work... (But don't tell anyone that I said so... okay?)

DON"T FORGET!!!!!!!!

If you upgrade your Arm, don't forget to also upgrade your Gimbal, the Gimbal has also to be able to take the additional weight AND don't forget the Vest. I'm not familiar with the differences between the SK and the ProVid Vest... But I'm sure that with the additional weight your SK Vest will very fast start to be very "uncomfortable"...

SO:

New/upgraded Arm

New Gimbal

New Vest

New Credit Card... It's getting expensive... check where you want to go with that...

BUT:

You mentioned something about a Panavision Gold? Didn't you?

If you want to fly that beast.... I would suggest to go with a different system all together...

FYI: The Video rigs from Steadicam are very nice rigs, but they are made for Video... (connectors missing, adapteability limited, etc) If you are looking to join the big league, you will very quickly find, that they are dead ends and barely upgradeable...

If you are shooting for the big rigs, start with a big rig (Okay stop throwing stones... of course you can buy small and as work comes in slowly upgrade... but that is up to you...)

(BTW: How is your operating, framing, composition????)
