Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted February 18, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 Really ugly they are. Thanks for good tip. What about other stuff? Matteo, You should invest in Triax to BNC adapters, then you cable will only be a very thin piece to your vest. Google Gepco for the connectors I don't have the address on my phone Also for return it's $5.00 worth of parts to have a tally on top of your monitor And lastly, check out the Stanton Zoom and focus control, all of us live tv guys over here use it. But, if you can keep the productions companies sold on a focus puller and a cable guy then you solid
Premium Members Philip J. Martinez SOC Posted February 18, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Hi Rob, Do you have the part # for the Triax to BNC adapters from Gepco? is that a cheaper solution then the Tiffen triax interconnect Kit? What is the difference between the Kings connector or the Fischer connector? Can you tell I know nothing about Triax? Edited February 18, 2009 by Philip J. Premium Members Matteo Quagliano Posted February 18, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Hi Rob, Thanks for suggestion, for sure I'm going to look for a thin cable in the future, correct me if I understand wrong but do you work without a cable guy? I had one at this job and I bring him myself, not the production (as usual no money) but no focus puller (and you can see it very clear at the girl close up) I know there's 2 kind of Triax connection (Lemo and Fisher) and since they sell for about 400/500 euros (each cable) is better to be sure what to buy and use most of the time. Hey Matteo, Triax here in states on most productions are like these: http://www.gepco.com/products/distributed/...triaxtocoax.htm I do always have a cable guy, they are awesome and make our jobs possible but almost never do I get a focus puller on a multicamera gig. If there's not an assistant/cable guy we don't show up! Its just not safe and it will end up costing you and the production company money in the long run. Stanton Zoom control is at : http://www.jimmyjib.com/zoomfocus.html all the best
