Sony HVR Z1 And the Steadicam Pilot

Does anyone know if the Sony HVR Z1 works well with Steadicam Pilot?

What´s about the motion artifacts?

Thanks a lot

Or in other words......

In theory this should function well, considering that the weight of the camera Sony HVR Z1 is 4,3 lb (1,9 kg). The model one Pilot is designed for a capacity of 2 to 10 lbs. Which puts this camera inside an acceptable medium range. It is necessary to consider the type of monitor that the Pilot has since there are two alternatives: 5,8" Color LCD Monitor (Pilot) 16:9 and 3,5" Color LCD monitor (Co-Pilot) 4:3 (Pal or NTSC). Likewise it is important to consider the weight of the system with monitor and camera. If it's a 3.5" monitor use Double AA batteries. (They are light but have little capacity and duration). A 5.8" monitor requires of professional batteries like the V-Lock.

Hi, Iain,

It seems like you do speak spanish and traslate so well into english. I wrote in spanish because Matías is from Uruguay, I am from Colombia but I live in Argentina so that is why I decided to. Anyway, excuse me if it was not very polite.

Thanks

No Worries Salazar,

I'm sure Matias was able to read and understand it, and hopefully it helped to answer his question. Truthfully I don't own a pilot and probably never will, but I do like to read all the posts about equipment and functionality which led to the translation. This site is a resource for so many operators that I figured I'd put the translation up for those that might be looking for the same answers but can't read Spanish.

Thank you a lot for being patience. I think This Forum is Great.

I understand some english but i´m not so good at writing.

I will try to translate...

About the battery mount. I found at B&H an offer with AA Batery Mount for a 5.8" 16:9 LCD monitor. I think that works well for what we want the Pilot. According to the B&H Reviews for this product, someone says that batteries last 4 hours using the 5.8" 16:9 LCD.

May be the only disadvantage is the amount of batteries..

No one says anything about the SONY HVR Z1 movement artifacts...

Thanks to everyone.

I´ve been using this camera for a while but I have not seen this problems on video. If it appears, I think it could be a problem of the camera itself but it has nothing to do with steadicam operation.
