Premium Members Erik Brul Posted February 7, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 7, 2009 Hey Daniel, Well.. maybe a little bit of headroom issues but overall very IMPRESSIVE !! Just like 4 to 6 months in the field and already several live gigs on you resume, a bit unbelievable i must say. In the reel the fast pans were cut nicely, how was this done in the actual live footage, just curious... :) a bit jealous, Erik B)
Daniel sandland
Heya Erik! Thanks alot for the positive comment =) Im aware of my headroom problem, working on that as we speek, some of those shots are very early so I should have developed some there. :) Ive been lucky with some good opportunities and a early start =) The fast pans are actually cut like that on the live shows, but they usually go out in a big crane swipe =)
Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted February 7, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 7, 2009 Really nice, especially for 4-6 months. Things to look for in the future... Try and get some shots that go on for over 4 or 5 seconds. Look for shots that go on for several seconds and go from room to room or set to set. Also try and get something that is slightly less radical (a nice easy well composed walk and talk). Finally, try (and I know you just started) to not use the same shot or set more than once. It makes it look like you don’t have that much footage to cut from. Over all, really good.

Paul James III
Daniel what I would like to know is what you did to get as good as you did in so little time without attending a workshop. The company I work for is thinking abouot purchasing one and I would be the primary operator. The workshops wont be back in my region for awhile so I just could use a couple of pointers from you or anyone who wishes to respond.
