Eduardo Tuviera
I just recently finished a steadicam job on a Television commercial shoot. During and after the shoot, I have felt pain in my back due to the long hours of carrying the rig. I immediately thought of buying a back mounted vest since I have been reading it in the forums that it will greatly help me reduce fatigue and operate longer and better. I have a small budget for the vest. I was thinking of getting a brand new Action Products back mounted vest or the Walter Klassen back mount but used. Is the Action Products Back mounted vest any good?.. Or should I stil buy a used Walter Klassen vest?.. Reagrds Eduardo Tuviera

Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted February 13, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 13, 2009 Be sure to try any vest you are going to buy before you buy it. If there is any way to use it for one of those long days where you think it will give you relief that would of course be ideal. Vests are a very personal thing and some people hate what others love. ~Jess
Premium Members Philip J. Martinez SOC Posted February 14, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 I would say go for Walter’s vest. I had the chance to drop by his shop, I was in Canada on a job. I got to have a beer with him see all around his shop and how each vest is made. Walter let me demo a vest for a day and I really liked it. It is one really well made piece of gear! And Walter is a Great guy. I have never had a chance to try any Action Products.
