I GOT HIM !!!

I bought it at Fotokonijnenberg.

I picked it up and they told me that they have called some people. (I think someone from Tiffen)

And it seems that the wheights are not standard delivered with the Pilot.

You have to buy them optional.

So the only thing I'm missing at the moment is the Allen Key and the video cable to connect the camera

to the LCD screen.

I'm busy now balancing it.

Hi Bart, WRONG WRONG WRONG

Below is the : PILOT System Package Includes :

● Camera Mounting Chassis (Sled)

● Back Pack Transport (Standard-Pilot; Optional - Co-Pilot)

● Carbonfiber Composite Expandable Post

● Docking Bracket

● 5.8" Color LCD Monitor (Pilot)

● 3.5" Color LCD monitor (Co-Pilot)

● 2lb to10lb Iso-Elastic Camera Capacity Arm

● Arm Boom - 28"

● Low Profile Lightweight Vest

● Locating Screw (Camera Mounting Screw)

● Battery Mount (AA, V-mount,Anton Bauer)

● Cable - Power/Cable-RCA to BNC

● Micro Adjustable Z-Y Stage

● RCA Video Cable

● Secure Locking Stage Plate

● "T" Handle Allen Wrench

● Counter weights for Balance <<<<----- STANDARD INCLUDED 4 MIDDLE WEIGHTS AND 2 END WEIGHTS !(maybe also START WEIGHTS ask pilot owners)

● SteadiStand (Optional)

● Owner's Manual (Quick-Start Guide)

So i suggest once again, contact TIFFEN yourself. As far as i know with every version of the Pilot or CO Pilot you should get at least

6 weights !!!

Best, Erik

hi

I purchased the Pilot last year.. Its a fine rig.. excellent quality as one would expect. If you can raise to it.. go with the WideScreen Monitor and a couple of IDX batteries... The enduras last ages... Not only does this give u better viewing and longer battery life but also adds a little more stability to the rig making it rock solid for cameras like the V1, Z1 etc.

It takes me a little longer than 10 mins to set up dynamic balance but thats maybe because I've watched too many steadicam videos on the 'Perfect Dynamic Balance"!! and watching those sleds rotate in an absolute perfect circle!!! But it really doesnt take long to get a good balance. Just make sure you dont have dangly cables wrapped all over your cam and alike or momnitors sticking out from the cam acting as wind-breaks!!!!

Get the Pilot.. looks good (not that, that is really an issue for me), but more importantly, performs really well.

Inc Batteries mine was £3300 (5.8" WideScreen Monitor/2 x IDX Batteries) (May 2008) UK.

Then I will contact the store again and they have to deliver me the wheights.

The rig was expensive enought so they have to give me at least that huh.

I have been trying and practising with the rig and the EFP training video.

It's going really good, but I just can't get it to have it dynamically balanced.

Any more tips on this ?

I also used a video cable which I had at home. 1 mini-jack - 2 cinch (yellow + white).

It was too long (1 meter) and I had to insert the white cinch in the steadicam.

Which cable do I need and how long does it need to be ?

Does someone have a link from the cable I need ?

Bart,

Once again, the Pilot should come completly as described above, so included weights and included the videocable.

You should NOT provide yourself these parts, the dealer / store should take care of this. The fact they even suggest

you to buy these cables yourself.. that´s BAD and a terrible service !

Inform Tiffen about this.., maybe this can be some bad advertisement for Tiffen... and i think they would like to hear more about this..

Best, Erik

Hi Bart welcome aboard. Hands down the Steadicam Pilot or Flyer LE are far better then the India rig. If you have the moeny buy a Syeadicam if not, I understand, the cost of a real rig can be out of reach for some of us. I'm in the same boat; I bought the inda rig due to lack of money and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to operate a stabilizer. I have since become addicted to the concept and I'm saving for a used Steadicam. Don't dispair, the india rig can be modified to make it a bit more usable and pactice until you can get yourself into a Steadicam. I can get dynamic balance in less tham 5-mins with my india rig; so it can be done.

Here are some links to a forum where I did a review and mods on the india rig. Lots of pics and info. you will have to register an account to see the photos.
