Hi chaps,

A thousand apologies to those who have already been bombarded with this (via the Steadicam Guild, email, Facebook or carrier pigeon) but the pressure is on to fill theater seats and this is after all my "hometown crowd" right here at the Steadicam forum...

"The Perfect Sleep", a feature that I shot is enjoying a limited theatrical release; it opens this Friday the 13th in LA at the Laemmele Sunset 5 for a weeklong engagement, followed by another week (starting the 20th) at the Quad Cinema in NYC. I'll be at the 7 p.m. show this Saturday at the Sunset 5.

It's being described as a "dark and vivid dreamscape--think Dostoevsky meets Dashiell Hammett" and along the way, a lot of ass-kicking ensues!

groan--I did stop short of sky-writing and sandwich boards.

Hey, speaking of old-school communication, I just learned that Western Union ended their telegram service in the US in 2006 (you can still send telegrams in many other places in the world). Shame really, think how cool it would be to send one in this day and age ("CONGRATS ON PERFECT SLEEP STOP"). I don't think I ever received one myself.

I just learned that Western Union ended their telegram service in the US in 2006 (you can still send telegrams in many other places in the world).

They probably got tired of giving copies of every telegram sent to the NSA. They had been doing it since the 20s so I don't really blame them(despite the fact that the NSA wasn't officially created until the 50s).

What I think really needs to make a comeback is the singing telegram. Or maybe the candygram.....

I will try to check out your movie later next week. Congratulations!

Had the pleasure to see the perfect sleep tonight. Great job by Charles as always, but generally, if you like Film Noir, I do, you will enjoy even some of the bloody scenes... and the non linear story telling.

I was missing the steadicam support today... Can't be that you were working... still check it out.
