MattWyer Posted August 23, 2004 Report Share Posted August 23, 2004 Hello all, Has anyone had any personal experience with the Rig sled, sold though Chrosziel in Germany? (http://www.anthrazit-design.com) I'm in the market for a new sled and it looks likes a fairly good bit of kit; Modular battery system, 4-stage post, tilting stage option, 12/24v. I spoke with Chrosziel and they said the Rig has mostly been sold in Europe (but not in the UK) I'm interested in any feedback anyone can offer. Very strongly made. Green screen superb as are the frame line and bubble. Give a call if you want more specific info. I am now UK rep for Baer Bel rig definitley worth considering if you are in the market for something new I have the full rig, arm, vest, accessories and sled in London so if you get a chance come over and have a look. Nils Ruinet Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 Hi Matt, The "Rig Light" is about 15500 ? without monitor. The "Rig" (4 times expandable post, electronic level, 3 batt...) is about 18000 ? without monitor. They also have an optional tiltplate (1000 ?). The post is 2". You can find all detail and pricelist on their website, just download the PDF files (Click on "tools pricelist" on the left). It looks quite nice for a pretty decent price (well, at least compared to a PRO :P ). But nobody seems to own it, or even to have tried it... I saw it once a few years ago. See you, Nils. I wouldn't say that Baer-bel stuff is over-expensive, the price represents the quality which in my opinion is top class. I can recommend their low mode cage :D No I don't work for them, just a satisfied customer. The Chrosziel rig seems to be well made, but agreed not many people seem to have any of their gear. Christian very kindly let me have a demo for a time when I was looking for a new kit selling my Masters. I am sure if you are serious you could contact him for a demonstration. My opinion at the time was very favourable. Beautifully made and engineered. Just happened to meet somebody selling an Ultra the same week and went for that instead otherwise I may well have bought The Rig. Matt Mouraud Posted October 6, 2005 Report Share Posted October 6, 2005 18K is "cheap", meaning it is nicely priced and it looks pretty well made. What do you get with Steadicam for that ? Just like my Glidecam Gold : lots'o'rig for the money. It doesn't compare with a Pro but delivers a lot of bang for the buck, that's for sure. Anyone knows if they'll be at the Satis ? They will NOT be bringing the "rig" to Cinegear as it is not yet available in the U.S. If any of our brothers and sisters abroad knows anything about this rig (I know there was a small thread earlier, where one chap I believe from the UK had checked it out) please let us know. And while we are on the subject of newer products/competitors to Steadicam/Mr. Smith's stuff/and Mr Paddock's stuff: are these newer body rigs considered taboo amongst the many of you who have been working with and improving this gear since it's inception? Should I be honing my interest on the three above mentioned companies to stay in good graces with the only forum I will probably ever belong to? Just a question from a Flyer owner looking to upgrade and to join the select field of what I believe to be the best job on any show by far. And as always, my gratiitude to whomever puts the hours and money (is there any way to help out monetarily or do Tiffen, glidecam, and varizoom cover the bills?} into running this invaluable resource. It is a privilege to be a member of this online community. And sorry to Rob Van G. for my flippant first post, which was my first post online in ANY forum, and I thought I was sending a short message out to millions of online poseurs, not a forum read and contributed to by the likes of Howard Smith and Phil Mcconkey. Then we can be very helpful and friendly. About the"quality" of equipment that you have, own or want to have, that is not so much an issue i think, as long as every body that asks questions also takes the effort to read and learn from the information that this forum has collected in the past years. And THEN ask the relevant questions! Repeating the same answers to the same questions get's boring for many people which is one of the reasons that many seasoned operators don't come here so much any more. That is a pity! About the Chrosziel rig, I have only played with that a few times at the IBC and it is a very stable and good rig, belonging to the top. In choice of material and craftmanship it is a really , really good rig. But you need a good arm and vest with that too, it is not a complete system as from Tiffen.
