Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 Marianne was kind enough to show it to me at the show. It's a Transvideo, what can I say... Sturdy and compact. Picture looked good but they admitted that there where some software related glitches (I was there for about 30 minutes and I saw maybe two...) . The unit shown was a prototype, by the time it's ready to ship it will be all taken care of... The receiver is the same size as the transmitter... they will package them accordingly to demand... like 2 receivers and one transmitter or 2 transmitters and 1 receiver, etc... Here some pix... Oh look it's Chris!!!
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 And the Receiver... of course.
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 hey wait Erwin, you are calling that "compact" but you aren't happy with the size of the Boxx (which is not nearly as thick)???
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 Erwin or Charles, did you ask about the safety of having that much RF near our pea-sized brains?
Premium Members Anders Holck Petersen Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 Erwin or Charles, did you ask about the safety of having that much RF near our pea-sized brains? I'd be much more concerned about another part of the body when doing lowmode... The Camwave HD transmits a 5.8GHZ signal at a peak power of max 0.050W when CH1 is selected. Your average wifi enabled laptop is something like 0.059W at peak. I wouldn't worry to much, but of cause as with all radiation, try to minimize exposure. Just to be on the safe side....is it possible to operate in faraday suit :-)
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted April 30, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 30, 2009 hey wait Erwin, you are calling that "compact" but you aren't happy with the size of the Boxx (which is not nearly as thick)??? Hey Charles, I didn't do a side by side, but the Boxx struck me way wider then the Transvideo. The Transvideo is fatter but again it's a prototype, versus the Boxx that claims to be the final size.... we will see. I'm not happy with either of the sizes... including the Camewave. Stephen Vanderspek
Boxx is wider but thinner than the Transvideo.
Premium Members Amando Crespo Posted May 1, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 1, 2009 And the Receiver... of course. Thanks for the info Erwin... I´m lost...
