Mod Quad or Coherent for Modulus3000?

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to decide on a receiver for a backup modulus 3000 i bought off Alec J.(Thanks)

Any recommendations?

Looked up both the Mod Quad and the triple Diversity CVR1500 coherent as well as the Avalon Dx604.

I know most guys have switched to the Canatrans and the new trend seems to be going to HD like Boxx and the Transvideo but they are still too bulky.

What are you guys using out there in RF land?

All the best,

Pete Barta

Hi Peter

I have had great results with the DX400 diversity receiver and modulus 3000 combination .I also have had some good results from my first receiver sony TU1041 and Titan (Transvideo) .My sun James has a CVR 1500 coherent receiver and transmitter just give him a call and test it out .

All the best

I've been using a sub-$100 receiver for the past 4 years or so and it's apparently worked as well as my old 4-channel diversity. It's called the Grand X Channel Pro by Grandtec. Not in manufacture any more but they show up on eBay etc. Point being, a good receiver makes a certain amount of difference but with RF, there's a lot of room for error.

Thanks for the advice Louis, Charles & Jens.

Much appreciated.

Think I'll try to buy a used one (Diversiy Receiver) if anyone has one For Sale they want to off load.

Please email me on petebarta at mac dot com

Cheers,

Diversity is the best choice I believe, but first you must know that "Avalon Dx604" and the Coherent will not work with modulus 3000!!!

Avalon Dx604 will only work in the 2.4 Ghz band and the Coherent it the 1.5 Ghz band.So may be Quad Mod must be your choice.

Best!
