Anthony Violanto
Has anyone mounted the Panasonic HPG20 Recorder to their rig? most likely using their optional camera mount? Just wondering if anyone has seen this mount in person. By the way, the recorder is pretty sweet... HD-SDI in with embedded audio...
Premium Members Joel San Juan Posted May 26, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2009 Hi Anthony, Yup had it mounted to my Master rig on the shoot am doing now. The base area of the sled seems to fit the width just nice but the main problem I faced was trying to tape it down - slippery surface. My asst and I tried all kinds of ways even thinking of screwing it to another dovetail and then mount it to the existing 4 holes at the bottom where the rubber pads are. At the end the best solution was cable ties! The only irritating thing was you have to drop a BNC down from the top sled and it could get in the way of operating it. So I got myself a really thin 75ohm short BNC jumper and it worked out great. And the added weight made it easier to get the gimbal neared the camera. And yes its a beautiful piece of equipment. However everytime they wanna playback you got to tilt your rig horizontal! Hope this helps. J.
