Premium Members Jerry Franck Posted June 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 Hi all, I've been using my PRO2 sled on numerous projects now and always had bigger HD or Film cameras on it. I noticed this helped me get into dynamic balance easier. Now, I have a few projects lined up with just a bare bone HVX200. Ugh, so lightweight...I can't find the dynamic balance. here's my setup on the sled: 1xdionic 90, transvideo monitor on dual rod system by xcs, bfd, pro recorder plate. any suggestions on how to get dynamic balance with such a light setup. I feel that the dionic is almost heavier than the camera ;) thanks, best, Jerry
Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted June 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 any suggestions on how to get dynamic balance with such a light setup. I feel that the dionic is almost heavier than the camera ;) A weight plate would help add some weight and low mass to the HVX. I have an 11 pounder for smaller cameras; and there's times when I use it with mid-sized cameras as well. Robert

Where can I get weight plates again? Thanks, Jerry
Premium Members David Baldwin Posted June 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 Ms. Janice Arthur just whipped up a batch based on Mike O'Shea's design. I think she posted a week or two ago in the 'marketplace' section of the forum. I've got an 11-pounder myself and it does the trick for those minidv and p2 cameras. Premium Members Sebastien Audinelle Posted June 5, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 Jerry, I just bought a practice cage from Janice last week, which consist of 2 weight plates connected together by rods, very helpful. Of course you can configure those plates the way you want. go to the market place section and get in touch with her, she'll help you out. Best, Sebastien.
